2nd Week Report

We started this week setting up and configuring our Robot Operating Systems (ROS). First, we installed ROS, managed our environment, and configured the ROS workspace.

During the week we were looking at the calculator’s multi-agent systems project, to understand better how agents work and how to introduce them to our challenge.

As for the following topics, we had several ideas such as:

  • Implement an image detection mechanism (AMBIIA) with the help of Multi-agent systems (SMAGIA), which would allow us to sell or give these images to the media.
    For example, offsides in a football game, if we were able to ascertain more images from videos or photos taken using a drone for example, or even from spectators and we would be able to assess better whether it is offside or not.
  • Create a system capable of detecting the environment and creating 3d images.
  • Create a system that could recognize a particular song in a noisy environment and present it to the user

But the topic that pleased us the most was:

Sound localization system based on “ODAS: Open embeddeD Audition System”, to be used in broadcasts, podcasts, online meetings, etc. with the goal of finding one or more sound sources (people) and adjusting other agents to improve the environment/transmission, like cameras, lights, etc.
