In our first week, the team started by presenting themselves, informing each other about their backgrounds, with the purpose of knowing ourselves better and understanding our capabilities and skills. After that, we started debating about the topics that we liked to explore and investigate. It is also important to refer that the group and the main topic of the team were defined by the course’s director, professor Carlos Ramos, based on the professional experience of the members of the team. Thus, the subject Media and Web Design was asigned to us.
We started building a document with ideas that were arising about the main subject and thought about some topics, like:
- Related with social networks:
- The connection between advertisements that are presented in websites, based on what the user searches for on the Internet;
- Fake ads/news.
- Related with multimedia/e-commerce:
- Video and music;
- Audio mixing in streaming contents (adapting audio to the different content categories);
- Recommendations system that sugests playlists, tracks and artists to the user based on his preferences;
- E-commerce;
- Consumer habits on online platforms. Determine if a certain product will be successful sales wise, based on online reviews, for future investement;
- Car e-commerce field;
- Telecommunications e-commerce field.
As for the curricular units, on Paradigms of Artificial Intelligence Programming (PPROGIA) there was an introduction about the basic concepts of logic programming (PROLOG). For Knowledge Engineering (ENGCIA), an introduction about expert systems was made.
